From the time I could hold a pencil in my hand I was constantly drawing as a child. It comes as naturally to me as breathing. At Mass. College of Art my focus switched briefly to photography, for which I am now thankful. As a painter, I use my photography skills as a tool. In my travels I compose with my camera, enabling me to paint in my comfortable studio. I have been painting in watercolor for 25 years. My passion is for the man made landscape or “manscapes” as I call them. The thrill for me is finding an old store, diner or gas station from another era. Whether a fishing camp on my own pond, or a ruined famine cottage in Ireland, it is the subject that motivates me.
